  1. Staffing Update

On Monday, we welcome Mrs. Lauren Barkley who is returning from her maternity leave.  She will be teaching in homeroom 6A.  Mrs. Marschall’s last day is today. We are sorry to see her go and wish her the best of luck.

 

  1. Pizza Orders

Now is the time to submit the final pizza orders for the year.  The final round of Pizza Days runs every Wednesday from April 4 until June 27.  Orders are placed on School-Day.  Payment on School-Day by credit card or debit/visa card is preferred.  If playing by cash, please send in the exact change along with the order number.  The deadline for orders is March 29, 2018.

 

  1. School Council Update

The Lamontagne chocolate fundraiser has wrapped up.  Thank you so much for your support of our school.  If you have not yet returned your money or unsold chocolate, please do so as soon as possible.  Be sure to mark your child’s name on the collection envelope.  We are looking forward to wrapping up this fundraiser and announcing our prize winners.

 

School Council is hosting an Owl Walk Saturday, March 3rd at 7:00 pm (updated time), in Monarch Woods.  Interested families should meet at the entrance to Monarch Woods next to 112 Stoke Drive.

 

  1. PIC Family Event, FREE, April 7th, 2018

The WRDSB Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) and the Waterloo Region Assembly of Public School Councils (WRAPSC) are hosting a free event at Bluevale Collegiate Institute on Saturday April 7th, 2018 from 9 – 3.  The event will feature an opening keynote by Marsha Vanwynsberghe, a Life Diversity Coach and Amazon #1 Bestseller with her book, When She Stopped Asking Why – A Mother’s Journey Through Teen Substance Abuse and  Loving Path to Finding Her Clarity, Courage and Purpose.  The closing address features Bardish Chagger, Member of Parliament, Minister of Small Business and Tourism and Leader of the Government in the House of Commons.  Sessions will cover math, diversity, technology, indigenous issues, crime prevention, drug use, mental health and more.   1. Before and After School Program Information

Registration is now open for before and after school programs for the 2018-2019 school year.  Visit www.wrdsb.ca/beforeafter to register for the onsite extended day program for students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade Two, or the Youth Development Program run onsite by the YMCA/YWCA for students in Grades Three – Six.

 

Please note that on the April 13th, P.A. Day, the Extended Day Program for students in grades JK – 2 will NOT be operating.  Staff will be partaking in important professional training.  The Youth Development Program WILL be running for registered students in grades 3 – 6.

 

  1. Tuck Shop

For a short time, the tuck shop will also be offering chocolate bars for $3.00 each.  Don’t miss out!  Frozen yogurt for $4 and popcorn for $2 continue to be available.  Tuck shop runs every Monday at second break.
