  1. Traffic Safety

An important school safety notice was sent home with your child last week.  As a family, please review the traffic safety information and determine how your family can use active transportation to get to and from school.  We have dangerous traffic congestion around our school.  The Walking School Bus and Trailblazer programs increase the safety and fun of walking to school, find out how you can be involved.  If you must drive, check out the map for the “drive to 5” locations and make a change to show you care about the safety of our neighbourhood.

  1. Cobs Bread Fundraiser

The Boardwalk location of Cobs Bread will provide 10% of your purchase back to Sandhills to support our school.  Just be sure to let the cashier know that you are a Sandhills family before your purchase is complete.  Stop in to purchase a treat or any of their delicious breads and support the school at the same time! www.cobsbread.com

  1. Staffing Update

Please welcome Mrs. Bin and Mrs. Statz who will be in the office for the remainder of the year.

We would like to welcome Ms. N. LeVear who will be here for Madame Hyde who will be leaving us for Maternity leave on May 9th.

  1. Grade Six Transition to Westheights PS

There are two important visits set up for our grade six students to get to know their new school for September.  Grade six students and their parents are invited to visit the Westheights Information Night on Thursday, May 17th from 6:30pm – 8:00pm.  Students will return to Westheights with their teachers on June 12th from 1:00pm – 2:30pm for a student guided tour.  The easiest way to make your Westheights experience awesome is to get involved!  Be sure to take part in these important events to find out how to get involved!

Saturday, May 12th from 10 am till 3pm at 200 Maple Grove Road in Cambridge.  It will be a fun filled family day with activities for children, community and police information booths.  Free admission, donations to the food bank gladly accepted.
