HALLOWEEN

For those students who wish to recognize this event they may wear the colours of BLACK and ORANGE, wear our school colours of BLUE and YELLOW to show off their School Spirit, or dress in a simple costume on Friday October 29. Please remember the following guidelines

  • Students will not be permitted to change into or out of their costume during the school day if they choose to wear one. As a result, please refrain from wearing anything large or bulky that may not be suitable for a whole day of learning inside the classroom or outside on the school yard.
  • · According to COVID Health and Safety guidelines, educators are not permitted to assist students with their costumes, including dressing, undressing, adjusting or altering.
  • · A face covering must be worn for COVID Health and Safety protocols and therefore please avoid make up that can dirty the face covering.
  • · Please leave all costume accessories at home (i.e. wands, tiaras, hats, ears, masks etc).
  • · Please dress in a respectful manner that is free from cultural appropriation, violent or frightening themes.
  • · Like ALL days please do not send treats or snacks to distribute to others.

PUMPKIN PATROL

We are pleased to advise you that once again, the Pumpkin Patrol will be patrolling your school and community on the evenings of Friday October 29th, Saturday October 30th and Sunday October 31st. This is the 27th year since the program was initiated.

STAFFING CHANGE

We would like to share with our community that Mrs. Yuko Snider is the new DECE in Mrs. Coveny, K1 class. She is replacing Mrs. Ryan while she is away.

Mrs. Bible-Minnielly will be leaving us Nov. 8th to have her baby. Mrs. Heisler will be in 1C while Mrs. Bible-Minnielly is on Maternity leave.

THE PARK BEHIND THE BALL DIAMOND

We are noticing that before the morning bell some students are dropping off their backpacks at their line and then leaving the school property to socialize and play at park grounds behind the baseball diamond. Once students arrive on school property, their health, safety, and wellbeing become our responsibility.

We have had conversations with classrooms that this area is unsupervised and that students are to stay in their line areas once they arrive at school. We would appreciate it if you could have a similar conversation at home to support this consistent message.
