Now is the time to place your order for your copy of the 2016/2017 Sandhills Yearbook.  The cost of the yearbook is $17, orders must be placed through School-Day by May 19th.  The books will be delivered the last week of school.

  1. Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast

Our annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast is taking place on Thursday, May 18th from 8:00 – 8:30 a.m. in the library.  So many amazing volunteers help to make Sandhills a better place, every day.  Have you volunteered in our school to support our student’s learning?  Have you attended our School Council meetings or helped to supervise a class trip?  Have you supported our students in the Strong Start program or helped with the tuck shop?  A heartfelt thanks to all our volunteers!

  1. Are you moving?

We are already busy preparing for next year.  Accurate enrolment information is key to good planning.  If you are moving and your child will no longer attend Sandhills, please send a note to the school office to let us know the final date of expected attendance at Sandhills and the name of the school you will be transferring to.  You will need to register at the school you will be attending.  Registration forms for schools within the W.R.D.S.B. may be picked up in the office.

  1. Popcorn and Frozen Yogurt

Each Monday at second break, popcorn and frozen yogurt will be available for sale in the main entry foyer; all proceeds will go to School Council initiatives.  Butter and salt flavoured popcorn will sell for $2.00 per bag.  Chocolate / vanilla swirl low fat frozen yogurt will sell for $4.00 per cup.  Sales will be cash only each Monday while supplies last.

  1. Did you know?

Walking to school can lead to better academic performance.  Just 20 minutes of walking in the morning can increase mental focus at school for up to four hours!  This can lead to higher test scores, better music practice, or even a better soccer game! Walk to school and reap the benefits.
