According to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, physical activity helps prevent some chronic diseases including heart disease, hypertension, stroke, type II diabetes and certain cancers. For instance, some researchers found that the risk of obesity decreases by almost 5% for every kilometer walked each day!  Walk to school to reap these benefits.
