  1. Kindergarten Registration for 2017-2018 School Year

Online registration began February 1, 2017 and will continue throughout the month of February.

Children born in 2013 are eligible to attend junior kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year.  Children born in 2012 are eligible to attend senior kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year.

Visit https://www.wrdsb.ca/register to begin your registration online.  Following your online submission, call the office to book an appointment to complete the process.

Children currently attending junior kindergarten at Sandhills will automatically be registered to continue into senior kindergarten next year.

  1. Popcorn and Frozen Yogurt Sales

Each Monday at second break, popcorn and frozen yogurt will be available for sale in the main entry foyer; all proceeds will go to School Council initiatives.  Butter and salt flavoured popcorn will sell for $2.00 per bag.  Chocolate / vanilla swirl low fat frozen yogurt will sell for $4.00 per cup.  Sales will be cash only each Monday while supplies last.

  1. Math Showcase Night

Our staff and students are eager to demonstrate the exciting math activities that have been happening at Sandhills!  Many activities are planned for the evening including demonstration lessons, sphero and coding demonstrations, math games for all ages. Learn more about Caribou math contests and math tools for learning, all through the lens of our students who have planned ‘math performances’.  Plan to visit Math Showcase Night and you could WIN a StarWars BB8 Sphero!

  1. Parking Reminders

Parents parking and dropping off their children near Westforest and Victoria: please obey all parking signs as marked. Double parking is causing difficulties for local homeowners to drive through the street and may lead to increased by-law officer attendance and ticketing.

  1. Update from Waterloo Region Public Health

In Canada, some viral infections increase during the winter season, typically between October and April and can affect people of all ages. These viral infections can cause respiratory illness or viral gastroenteritis. While not usually serious, viral infections can be spread to others. In schools, it is common to have periods of illness and absenteeism that may peak at various times during the season. For more information and tips on staying healthy see public health update

  1. Varsity Basketball Clinic

If you are looking for a great introduction to basketball or a chance to enhance your skills, consider the Varsity Basketball Clinic this spring.  This two-day basketball camp is scheduled for April 29/30 for students in grades 3-5 or May 6/7 for students in grades 6-8.  Brochures are available to pick up in the office or email varsity@rogers.com for more information.

Our attendance line is 519-570-8125 ext. 3041# it is available 24 hours for your convenience.  It is busiest between 7:45am and 8:30am.  Please remember to call if your child will be away from school.
