January 20, 2017 – Weekly School-Day Update

January 20 – Kodaly Choir performing O’ Canada at the Rangers Game
January 27 – P.A. Day, no school for students.
February 2 – National Sweater Day, we will turn down the heat to reach our Eco goals
February 8 – School Council meeting 6:30pm in the library
February 14 – R.W.P. Day – wear red, white or pink!
February 17 – Report cards go home
- Tuck Shop – Coming Soon!
Tuck shop sales will begin on Monday, January 23rd. Each Monday at second break, popcorn and frozen yogurt will be available for sale in the main entry foyer; all proceeds will go to School Council initiatives. Butter and salt flavoured popcorn will sell for $2.00 per bag. Chocolate or vanilla low fat frozen yogurt will sell for $4.00 per cup. Sales will be cash only each Monday while supplies last.
- Electives Day for Junior Students
The grades 4, 5 and 6 students will have the choice to participate in one of THREE extra-curricular activities on February 3. Please log-in to School-Day to complete the permission and payment process for your selected activity.
* Students who choose School Based Activities still need to sign up for the event in School-Day.
**If you need to purchase rental equipment for the Chicopee Activities, you can select it during the permission and payment process and add it to your cart.
- Kindergarten Registration for 2017-2018 School Year
Children born in 2012 or 2013 are eligible to attend kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year. Online registration will begin February 1, 2017. Stay tune for more details.
- 2016 French Immersion Information Sessions
Registration for Grade 1 French Immersion is open January 9th – 31st, 2017 on the Waterloo Region District School Board website at www.wrdsb.ca/french.

- Foster Parent Information Sessions
Family and Children’s Services of the Waterloo Region will be holding information sessions for families interested in foster parenting opportunities. A local session will be held at the Forest Heights Library on Thursday, February 2nd, 2017.
