A big THANK YOU to Kitchener Utilities who have generously covered the cost of the bussing for our grade three students who will be participating in the Swim to Survive Program.

WRDSB is asking for your feedback on a new purpose statement.  Learn more and vote on your favourite at https://vote.wrdsb.ca/#vote-for-your-favourite-purpose-statement

  1. Winter Playground Guidelines

The snowy weather is near, please be reminded that sliding on the playground hills is not permitted.  The creative climbing structures are closed until the warm weather returns in the spring.

  1. Parking

Thank you for being mindful of student safety during arrival and dismissal times.  To ensure student safety, our parking lot attendants Mr. McPhee and Ms. Burt continue to encourage parents to refrain from using the parking lot for pick up and drop offs.

  1. Staffing Updates

Welcome back to Mme Hyde who has returned from her maternity leave and is teaching 2F and 2/3FA.  Welcome also to Mme Kablan who is teaching with Mme Hyde some afternoons.  We also say goodbye to Mr. MacQueen who returns to retirement adventures after November 30th.

  1. Volunteers in the School

Volunteers are a wonderful way to promote parent and community engagement.  Thanks to all of those families who volunteer in our school or on off campus events to support staff, students and the school as a whole.  Waterloo Region District School Board policy dictates that volunteers need to submit a Police Vulnerable Sector Check to the school when they are supervising students that are NOT in the proximity of a teacher (i.e. on a field trip where they have their own group and are walking around a museum, park, etc.), or as requested by the Principal depending on the volunteer role.  Please see the office for a letter to receive a reduced fee for obtaining the Police Vulnerable Sector Check.

  1. Can you help?

The office keeps a small supply of extra clothing for students who need to change during the day.  We would greatly appreciate donations of gently used pants for boys or girls sizes 4-12.
