Welcome to Sandhills’ Walking School Bus Program.
Sandhills Public School is a proud supporter of the Walking School Bus in conjunction with the Canadian Cancer Society. By supporting this active method of transportation to school we can contribute to better focus in the classroom, greater test scores and increased physical and mental health. It is also environmentally sustainable and a great way to make new friends.
Why Use the Walking School Bus? Check out the Video!
Not only does the Walking School Bus increase the safety and fun of walking to school by intensifying visibility and allowing children to walk with other students, but it fosters gradual independence through age-appropriate supervision, support and road safety education. Please take a look at our Sandhills Traffic Safety Booklet which gives information regarding traffic safety, our walking school bus route and driver/student expectations. For more information and to have your questions answered, please visit our FAQs page.
To register your child for the walking school bus please click on the Online Registration Button. When filling out the online registration, Sandhills is in the Southwestern Ontario Region and our School Board is the Waterloo Region DSB.
