The 2018 Pumpkin Patrol is back on our streets!
Once again this year, the Pumpkin Patrol will be patrolling your school and community on the evenings of Tuesday, 30th Oct and Wednesday, 31 Oct. During these two nights, the Pumpkin Patrol will randomly visit facilities of the WRDSB and be a watchful eye for any problems that may occur while children are out ‘trick-or-treating’.
We have experienced a reduction in vandalism at our Board facilities as a result of this program. It acts as a deterrent in decreasing the amount of activities and damage to schools to ensure increased safety for school children who are out during those evenings.

On Wednesday, 31 October our Students will have the opportunity to ***CELEBRATE*** during one of their blocks to participate in Halloween and non-Halloween themed activities throughout the school. Activities will include Basketball, beanbag toss, face painting, Spider Web Craft, Chess & Blokus, Halloween Origami and Cosmic Kids Yoga to name but a few.
Celebrations such as this are a great way to foster school spirit and culture whilst helping the kids to build relationships with their new friends, other classes and teachers alike.
In addition, we are delighted to announce that we have a GLOBAL ISSUES PHOTO BOOTH for $1 per picture as part of our celebration to help us build upon our Global Issues Awareness. All proceeds from this photo booth will go to a Girls’ Orphanage in India. Don’t forget, we have a Global Issues Club which meets in Room 9 , 2nd Nutrition Break on Day 1. For more information on other Extra Curricular Activities taking place this year please see our Website.

Board Game Club will be a new initiative starting this Fall and in preparation for this awesome new program we would like to ask for donations.
If you have ‘appropriate’ new or gently used board games that you no longer use, and wish to donate to Sandhills, you can drop them off at the Main Office. More details will follow over the next few weeks. Stay tuned……
