PARKING AT SANDHILLS PUBLIC SCHOOL

Over the last few years, we have spent considerable time educating our community on our top Priority here at Sandhills!

“Safety Comes First!”

This is especially imperative when it comes to Parking! Did you know that we have a No Student Drop Off or Pick Up Policy at Sandhills?

Starting next week, Tuesday, 21st May there will be a Parking Attendant at the entrance to the Parking Lot at the start and end of School. Our Parking Attendant will guide staff and approved visitors into the Parking Lot. Parents are reminded of our Drive to 5 Drop Off areas.

Drive to 5 and avoid school traffic!  Start parking at one of the points indicated on the Traffic booklet where there is plenty of legal parking – just a 5 minute walk away from school. A link to our Sandhills Traffic Safety Booklet is attached but Locations are:

Lynvalley Crescent and Greengable Way
West Forest Trail and Highgate Road
West Forest Trail and Summerside Woods Park

In addition, you could also join our ‘Walking School Program’ which is a fun way to walk to school with friends, fostering independence with age-appropriate supervision. If you are interested please visit the link below:

We would appreciate the help of all parents to spread the word about Parking Lot Safety. Not only does the Parking Policy protect your child’s safety at the start and end of the school day but promotes healthy active habits by walking to and from school.

If you have a special circumstance such as an appointment throughout the day and need to sign in/out your student please let our office staff know of the appointment time.

Let’s work together to make Sandhills a ‘flagship’ school for student parking lot safety!
