September 30, 2016 – Weekly School-Day Update

 

1.Upcoming Dates

Oct. 3 – Terry Fox run – rescheduled due to rain

Oct. 5 – First Pizza Day – for those who have ordered pizza, it is delivered second break

Oct. 10 – Thanksgiving Holiday – no school

Oct. 12 – School Council 6:30pm in the library

Oct. 19 – WE day

Nov. 18 – Progess Reports go home

 

  1. Staffing Update

Due to decreasing numbers this fall in our extended day programs, we have lost one section, and have had to reorganize as a result.  Mrs. Rice is moving to Highland Public School in Cambridge. Mrs. Mogk will be moving to K4 to be the core day Early Childhood Educator and Mrs. B. will be moving to K3 as the afternoon Early Childhood Educator. This change takes effect Monday, October 3. Mrs. Mogk and Mrs. B. have spent sometime this week in their new class to ensure a seamless transition.  The Sandhills Team wishes Mrs. Rice all the best at her new assignment. She will be missed.

  1. Bicycle Etiquette & Safety

  1. Upcoming Trips

Our grade two students will travel to Mountsberg Conservation Area on October 13th.  Students will visit the Raptor Center’s Owl Prowl Program.

Our kindergarten students will visit Brantwood Farms on October 28th.  They will learn about farming and the life cycles of apples and pumpkins.

On November 1st, all of our primary students will have the opportunity to visit the KW Symphony.
