I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our staff and students for a wonderful year. Students have grown in so many ways over the past 10 months. Physically, all have grown a little taller, socially new, lasting friendships were established, and academically everyone has excelled in one area or another. I couldn’t be more proud of each and every student and their personal accomplishments. I wish you all a very safe holiday and look forward to seeing you all back on September 4th.

For our graduating students, I am excited for you as you move onto senior school. Your new school will offer you so many opportunities and I hope that you take advantage of as many of these as you can as you continue to develop into outstanding citizens.

I would like to express my gratitude to staff for their relentless dedication to academic excellence and keeping the well-being of each and everyone one of our students at the forefront.

With the end of a school year comes the time to say goodbye and so we would like to say goodbye to some very special people. We wish Mrs. Debbie Gillies all the best as she embarks on the next chapter in her life of retirement. Mrs. Gillies, you have truly made your mark at Sandhills and touched the lives of countless students in your career.

We are also saying goodbye to our newest Kindergarten teacher, Miss Emily McBride, who will be teaching at MacKenzie King PS next year with her best friend and sister. Mr. Jeff Ringwald our evening custodian is moving to JW Gerth PS in July. Our new evening custodian will be Ms.Shannon Freemantle.

A heartfelt thank you for an outstanding job to all of our long term occasional teachers who did an amazing job whether they were here right from September or just joined us in May. Thank you to Miss Michelle Knight, Mr. Stephen Sabourin, Ms. Irena Juchnik, Miss Nickole Levear, Miss Olivia Best, Mrs Kristin Butcher, Mrs. Lauren Barkley, Ms. Kim Sugrim, Miss Jenna Haskins and Mrs. Michelle Reay. We wish you all the very best as you move forward in your careers. Mrs. Nadine Van Horne will not be returning in September as she will be on maternity leave.

We have some new staff who we would like to acknowledge and welcome to our Sandhills family. Joining our Kindergarten team, we have Mr. Joey Kittmer, Miss Jade Haskins and Mrs. Kolbey Rank. Ms. Erin Pomfrey will join us as an educational assistant. We are also very happy to welcome back Mrs. Jeannette Bible from maternity leave. Mrs. Bible will also be using her married surname Minelly. And finally, to complement the office staff and working closely with Mrs. Tracy Toffolo, our head secretary, we would like to welcome Mrs. Maria Wallace as our new second secretary.

Once again, I would like to wish everyone a safe and restful summer holiday and I look forward to seeing you all in September.
