- From Mrs. Murovec
Parents / Guardians, a gentle reminder to ensure your student(s) are on time in the morning. We are now in the cooler weather season, and as a result students take longer to take off their winter clothing and get ready for class. Being at school on time for entry is critical to ensure students maximize instructional time. When students arrive late, coupled with the extra time it takes to change out of their winter gear, it is disruptive to their learning.
- Global Issues Raffle
The Global Issues Club is holding a raffle next week with all proceeds going to Hurricane Relief through the Red Cross. Students may purchase raffle tickets in the foyer at first nutrition break December 4 – 9. Tickets are $0.25 each or 5 for $1.00.
- Special Announcement – from the students of Mrs. Krupicz, Mrs. Sanders and Mrs. Gillies
Book Collection for Natural Disaster Relief
The grade 3’s in room 6A, 6B and 6D are collecting gently used books. Do you have any books that are gently used that you don’t want anymore? Please bring them in starting on Monday, December 4th. There will be a book sale December 12 and 13. We’re giving the money to natural disaster relief.
- Winter Food Drive
The Food Bank of Waterloo Region is always grateful for donations to help our neighbours in need. Global Issues students will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Food Bank from December 11 until December 22. Food and cash donations will also be accepted at the entrance to our winter concerts on December 12 and 13.
Most needed items include canned meat & fish, canned pasta, canned soup, tomato sauces, canned stews & chili, canned fruit, dried beans, beans in sauce, rice, hot cereals. Did you know that a $1 cash donation can provide three healthy meals using The Food Bank’s buying power?
- Volleyball Intramurals
Volleyball Intramural games are happening in the gym December 6, 14 and 20 at 3:00pm. Families are welcome to come and cheer for their players.
