  1. Website Changes

The calendar section of the Sandhills website has undergone an update and now features a google calendar.  Sandhills events will now show in this convenient format. It is also populated with W.R.D.S.B. events, holidays and meetings.  Just above the calendar is a link to a PDF with the calendar cycle days.

  1. Halloween Celebrations – October 31st

Our Kindergarten students will participate in a costume parade in first block (8:35 – 10:35).  Students in grades one through six are invited to participate in a carnival taking place during the middle block (11:15-12:45).  Activities will be both Halloween and non-Halloween themed, including games, crafts and a haunted house. Students are invited to wear costumes, please remember that scary costumes, weapon-like accessories, scary clown masks and full face masks are not appropriate for school.

  1. Random Acts of Kindness Day – November 3rd

Since 2008, Random Act of Kindness Day® has brought Kitchener-Waterloo and other Canadian communities together by engaging citizens in small acts of kindness and generosity.  The message is simple; do something nice for someone and ask nothing in return other than they do something nice for someone else. Part of the beauty of the initiative is that it doesn’t have to cost a cent. Holding a door open, words of thanks and encouragement, telling someone they’ve done a good job – these are the kinds of acts that citizens ‘pay forward’ on this special day.

  1. Terry Fox Run Update

Sandhills students participated in their own Terry Fox Run on September 28th.  There was a special cheque presented during an assembly on October 10th. Our very generous students and families raised $1580.00 for cancer research!  Way to go Suns!
