June 29th, 2016 – Weekly School-Day Update
From the Office…
It is hard to believe how quickly this year has passed. We would like to thank all of our many volunteers and parents for your help, support and interest this year, with special thanks going out to our School Council members, who have planned successful community events, raising funds for our greening and outdoor classroom initiatives. We have had a very busy and successful year, and you as partners in the education of your children deserve much of the credit for that. We would also like to express our gratitude to all of our talented staff who work tirelessly throughout the year to enhance student learning and promote student wellbeing through exemplary instructional strategies and school events.
In staffing news, we say goodbye to several staff members. We wish a very happy retirement to both Mr. Swanson and Ms. Dykstra. We say farewell and good luck at your new schools to: Mrs. Hristov, Mr. MacTavish, Mr. Safar, Ms. Ross, Mme. MacLean, Mr. Loney, Mrs. Sanders, Mme. Harper, Mr. Bell, Mrs. Jahn, Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Wood, Miss. McKerron and Miss. Erb! Mme. Hyde, Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. MacLean and Mrs. Raghunandan will continue on their maternity leaves in the fall. We say hello and welcome to Ms. Bingeman our new Vice-Principal, Mme. Teall-Breeze who, will join the French Immersion team, and Miss. Mags who will be our new CYW. We say welcome back to Ms. Mogk, Ms. Borowska and Mrs. Byers who are all returning to the kindergarten team.
It has been a pleasure and privilege working with our wonderful school community this year and serving the needs of our sensational Sandhills Suns. On behalf of Sandhills, we would like to wish you and your family a safe and a happy summer holiday.

- Information for 2016/2017
Classes begin again on September 6th, 2016. Junior and Senior Kindergarten students will receive a letter over the summer with information about your class placement and the staggered entry schedule. Students who will be in grade 1 – 6 will find their class placements posted on the library windows after 4:00pm on Friday, September 2nd, 2016. On the first day back to class, the teachers will meet their classes outside on the tarmac at the back of the school.

Lunchbox Orders is a convenient, online ordering platform featuring local restaurants.
For the coming school year, an on-line ordering calendar will be coordinated for the Sandhills community including the school’s lunch and milk program.
Why Lunchbox Orders?

- With every meal purchased, a donation will be made to the school’s fundraising program.
- Orders may be placed weekly or for any number of weeks in advance during the course of the program.
- All restaurants featured offer menu items that are compliant with the Ontario Ministry of Education’s Food and Beverage Policy, PPM 150.
