- Strong Start Volunteers Needed
Strong Start is a 10-week program that targets children in Senior Kindergarten and Grade 1. They are paired with trained community volunteers who work one-on-one with them, playing carefully designed games and activities. Make a difference with as little as 30 minutes per week. Please call the school at 519-744-4430 if you are available to help.
- Administration of Medication
Please note the WRDSB policy on the Administration of Medication in Schools. “It is understood that preferred practice is that all medication be administered by the parent / guardian at home during non-school hours.” In situations where there is no alternative, prescribed medication may be administered from the school office. The medication must be in its original container with the pharmacy label attached. The “Administration of Medication” form must be completed by the parent / guardian. At no time can non-prescription medications be administered at school.
- The Library is Open for Incoming Kindergarten Students
If you have registered your child to attend kindergarten for September 2016, the library is now ready for your visit. Our future ‘Suns’ are encouraged to visit the Sandhills library to become familiar with the school. Come borrow a book or two and see how much fun Sandhills can be!
- NEW! The Student Scoop!
Thank you to Lara Pascu for providing this student update.
Guess What? Chess Club is back as well as Eco Club!
Get your game on because in chess you need to gather all your knowledge and become the next chess champion! Just go down to the library where it all happens; actually SANDHILLS is where it all happens! Listen for announcements the week of April 18 for all the details.
You have no idea what Eco Club is?! Well, let me tell you all about it. Head down to Room 7D (Mrs. Schaefer’s room) to experience a nature adventure! It’s helping the earth be a better place. Listen for the announcements for the meeting dates.
