First Day Procedures

Welcome Back to all of our students and their families and a welcome to anyone new to the Sandhills community!!!     We have changed our first day procedures just slightly this year.

We will be getting together as a whole school before getting into our classes to have a brief welcome message and then sing O Canada and our school song.  If the weather cooperates, this will be held outside in front of the ramp just outside the gym.  Some of the key instructions are:

Students will get together in grade groups.  There will be teachers with signs to help students see where they should be going. Mrs. Kuntz will give a very brief Welcome message from the ramp and then Mrs. Jamieson will lead us in the singing of O Canada and the school song. Mrs. Kuntz will dismiss students by grade

      – Grade 1’s English classes – Library

      – Grade 1’s French Immersion classes– outside alcove of library

      – Grade 2’s and 3’s – Tarmac

      – Grades 4 – 6 English classes – soccer field/tarmac beside the gym

      – Grades 4 – 6 French Immersion classes – will meet by portables

In the event of rain, we will have everyone meet in the gym in their grade groups and will be dismissed from the gym.
