Parking De-Brief

A huge thank you to parents and caregivers for their understanding/respect of our parking policy, which went into effect on Monday, 26th November. Our ‘Taking back the Parking Lot’ is in full swing and we appreciate your efforts and commitment in spreading the word about parking lot safety.

Going forward, our No Student Drop Off or Pick Up will stay in place but please remember that this does not apply to special circumstances such as an appointment throughout the day.

Student safety is always our first priority. Let’s work together to make Sandhills a ‘flagship’ school for student parking lot safety!

Did You Know?

Did you know that children between the ages of 5-11 need ONE HOUR of physical activity every day: at home, at school, at play. Every step counts.

Here at Sandhills, we start the day ‘right’ by walking to school, contributing to our students’ physical well-being.

Improved self-esteem, increased concentration, opportunities for socializing are but a few health benefits of physical activity.

We have included a few links with tips on how to get your kids active and guidelines on how much at what age. In addition, the link below also helps parents understand what activities can help with certain chronic health concerns, i.e. asthma.

Umbrella Project

G.R.I.T is our Character Trait this month.

G – Give it your Best

R – Redo if necessary

I – Ignore the Urge to Quit

T – Take the Time to Do it Right

If we want to work hard day after day towards a long-term goal, we need to be organized and demonstrate care about deadlines, timeliness, and the quality of our work.
