Jump2Math – Tuesday , 16 Oct, 2018 – 6 to 8pm

Following the success of READ Literacy Night on Tues, 2nd Oct, we are proud to present our next Family Night………………………

Jump2Math is a kinesthetic, multi-sensory approach to teaching math that incorporates physical exercise, cooperative learning, and giant math stations. This active math program allows parents, students, and teachers to enjoy active learning together while traveling to each interactive math station.

Science has proven that combining physical education and math accelerates the development of brain synapses that store and retrieve information.  With our program’s activities and games, students literally see the math. They get physical with it. They play with it. They discover the patterns and find solutions on their own and collaboratively in teams.

Students and their families will have the opportunity to participate in ten activity stations throughout the evening.  Each station has a theme and a sign that prompts discussion / engagement with participants. Our goal is to provide a fun approach to learning as parents sometimes wish to focus on achievement over fun, but fun ignites learning and builds critical relationships needed for healthy brain and skill development.

A REMINDER MESSAGE FROM YOUR LIBRARIAN

Students need to use a plastic bag to tote their library books to and from school. A plastic bag will help protect books from nasty spills and leaky water bottles inside student backpacks. The bag doesn’t need to be fancy, a grocery or shopping bag will help keep them dry! Your help regarding this matter is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Have A Wonderful Weekend and Happy Thanksgiving from the Sandhills’ Staff!
