  1. School Council Update

The Lamontagne chocolate fundraiser is underway.  Thank you so much for your efforts to support our school.  There will be a School Council representative available each day at second break so students can return the funds raised once the box is sold.  Students can also pick up an additional box at second break if they wish to continue selling.

Thanks so much to all the Sandhills families that came out Thursday evening to the family dance.  It was great fun for everyone.  School Council is happy to report it was our most successful fundraising dance yet – over $1000 was raised to support the school.

  1. Walking School Bus Volunteers

Are you already walking to school with your children?  Are you interested in helping our Walking School Bus grow?  Parents interested in learning more about becoming a volunteer walker are invited to contact Mr. Ernst for more information at tom_ernst@wrdsb.ca . This is a great opportunity to get to know your neighbours and serve the wonderful Sandhills community.

  1. Kindergarten Registration Now Open!

Children born in 2014 or new-to-school children born in 2013 are eligible to attend kindergarten in September 2018.  Registration begins online, visit www.shl.wrdsb.ca and click on the Register for Kindergarten button on the left side.  After the online registration is completed, call the office (519-744-4430) to book a brief appointment to finish the registration.  Students already enrolled in Kindergarten do not need to register again.

  1. Before and After School Program Information

Registration is now open for before and after school programs for the 2018-2019 school year.  Visit www.wrdsb.ca/beforeafter to register for the onsite extended day program for students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade Two, or the Youth Development Program run onsite by the YMCA/YWCA for students in Grades Three – Six.

Please note that on the April 13th, P.A. Day, the Extended Day Program for students in grades JK – 2 will NOT be operating.  Staff will be partaking in important professional training.  The Youth Development Program WILL be running for registered students in grades 3 – 6.
